What is the running time of a show at the MINA Immersive Space?

The three shows that run as a part of our permanent exhibition - Van Gogh - the immersive show (21 minutes), COSMOS - Revealing the Mysteries of the Universe (21 minutes) and Gustav Klimt - the immersive show (11 minutes) - are 360 video projections and run in the same space. The shows last a total of 55 minutes and run back-to-back in the MINA Immersive Space.

The show „Dinosaurs - an immersive journey into the prehistoric world” lasts 23 minutes and is screened in the second New Media space.

Do children have to pay for a ticket? Is there an age limit?

Admission is free for children under 3 years old in all 3 areas; accompanying adults must purchase a separate ticket for each area (MINA Immersive, MINA Kids, or MINA - The Wizard of Oz).

With the purchased ticket, you have access to the Immersive Space where the three shows - Van Gogh (21 minutes), Cosmos (21 minutes), and Gustav Klimt (11 minutes) - are screened. The length of time spent in the Immersive Space is of approximately 55 minutes.

Group tickets for groups of 4+ people are available, with a 10% discount.

For „ Dinosaurs - an immersive journey into the prehistoric world”, the price of admission is RON 30 and RON 25 for groups, respectively.

What is the validity of the tickets?

Tickets are valid for one admission, ONLY on the day when they were purchased. Only time slots may be subject to change.

What are the museum’s opening hours?

The museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays, as follows:

Is there a time limit for my visit to the museum?

The shows in the Immersive Space last a total of 55 minutes and run back-to-back. There is no time limit; however, for a pleasant experience, there is a limit on the number of visitors who can have access to the area at the same time. If this number is exceeded, for the next scheduled show, priority will be given to the visitors who have not seen the show before. We’re looking forward to see you there!

Do people with disabilities have free access?

Every month, we offer 40 free tickets to people with disabilities; these are available for pick-up upon arrival. You can obtain these tickets on site. We kindly ask you to take your disability certificate with you. Access to the space is possible for people in wheelchairs. We’re looking forward to see you there!

How many people can attend the shows that run in the immersive space?

The Immersive Space shows last 55 minutes and run back-to-back; to ensure a pleasant experience, the maximum number of visitors allowed in the space is limited to approximately 150 people. If this number has not been reached, there are no conditions related to entry or exit. We’re looking forward to see you there!

The maximum number of visitors that can have access to the New Media space for the show “Dinosaurs - an immersive journey into the prehistoric world” is 120.

Can tickets be purchased on site?

Yes, tickets may be purchased directly at the ticketing office. Payment in cash and by card is available.

Does the museum have a parking lot?

Yes, access to MINA is possible through the public parking managed by Interparking, which has limited parking spaces; the parking is not a part of MINA. Payment is made at the machine located at the parking exit.

Rates:

  • Mondays through Fridays: 1 hour: RON 10; 2 hours: RON 15; 3 hours: RON 20; 4 hours: RON 25; 5 hours: RON 30.
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 1 hour: RON 3; 1 full day: RON 30.

From 18:00 to 7:30 and on weekends, payment for parking must be made at the cash payment machine, as the parking is not staffed on evenings and during the night.

Please use RON 1, RON 5, RON 10, and RON 50 bills for the payment machine (the maximum bill value accepted by the machine is RON 50).

Are there separate rooms for each projection?

The three permanent exhibitions are run in the same space. The first projection is Van Gogh, followed by Cosmos and ending with Gustav Klimt. The immersive show “Dinosaurs - an immersive journey into the prehistoric world” is a 360 projection and is held in another New Media space.

Are there discounts for students or the elderly?

We offer group discounts, discounts for George card holders, and discounts for Kaufland employees.

For the [ IN BETWEEN ] show, students are offered a 50% discount, and the price of admission is RON 70 (full price: RON 140).

Do you organise private events?

Yes, we offer birthday parties for children in the MINA KIDS area (contact us at andreea@minamuseum.com and our team will be delighted to provide all the information you need), as well as corporate events, product launches, and many more (for more information and details about our offers, contact us at mina@minamuseum.com or mina@maramuseum.com ).

Is this the only MINA location?

We also have MINA pop-up editions in different cities across the country, at different times, as follows:

  • MINA Pop-Up Cluj: 19 April - 3 June
  • MINA Pop-Up Iași: 10 June - 10 September
  • MINA Pop-Up Timișoara: 18 September - 1 January
Can strollers be taken into the MINA KIDS area?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. To avoid injuries and prevent the spread of bacteria, we prohibit the access with strollers in this space. Additionally, adults are asked to wear medical shoe covers, and children are asked to take off their shoes or bring a spare pair of slippers.

Is the access to MINA Kids performed by intervals?

Yes, access is limited to one hour and a half, and access to the Immersive Space is limited to approximately one hour.

Are we allowed to bring drinks from the bar into the kids’ playground at MINA Kids? How about the dinosaurs area?

Certainly. In the KIDS area, we have special tables for parents, where they can sit down and enjoy their drinks; as for the access to the show “Dinosaurs - an immersive journey into the prehistoric world”, please have your drink before the show or leave it at the bar.

Why must children be accompanied on the playground?

MINA Kids is a safe place for all children, but parents have more control over the children and must supervise them. The KIDS area facilities are monitored by supervisors and they can help you in case of accidents.

Why must children take off their shoes on the playground?

Playground cleanliness is very important to us, as it is used by toddlers who have not yet learned to walk as well.

Why is there an age limit of 7+ years for children in order to have access to VR?

Children under 7 may get scared, feel sick, or lift their headset off, damaging the equipment.

What are the activities that I can attend with my child on the playground?

We offer various activities that small kids may appreciate: ball pool, slide, colouring area or trampoline. On weekends, face painting is also available.
