This year, MINA Cluj is part of the Cinema Paradiso International Short Film Festival. From October 1 to 4, Cinema Paradiso brings to Cluj-Napoca a selection of Romanian and international short films, including award-winning titles and films screening in Romania for the very first time.
Here’s what you’ll see at MINA Cluj:
- Jinx, directed by Ștefan Marcu (25 min)
Synopsis: The perfect online couple meets face-to-face for the first time.
- Totul e minunat și nimeni fericit, directed by Ioana Păsărin (15 min)
Synopsis: Determined to become a better, happier person, a young woman sets out to stick to her New Year’s resolutions, even when everything seems to be working against her.
- Memory Pills, by Agata Olteanu and Teodora Mihaila (6 min)
Synopsis: A collage of memories in small doses, combining analogue film strips, a handmade robot and modelling clay in a playful stop-motion animation.
- Networking, directed by Marian Fărcuț (17 min)
Synopsis: Two corporate coworkers find themselves in an awkward situation after agreeing to go on a date.
- Atât s-a putut, directed by Dragoș Bota (14 min)
Synopsis: Out of work and urgently needing money to take his girlfriend out, Vlad discovers an unexpected way to make some quick cash with the help of a new recycling scheme.
- The Great Cane Robbery, by George Sorinca (5 min)
Synopsis: A gang of panda criminals attempts to pull off a bank heist, but things quickly take an unexpected turn when the police come after them.
- Tot n-am scăpat de ei, directed by Alexandra Matei and David Vîlcu (18 min)
Synopsis: Two friends devise a plan to pour LSD into the drinking water system beneath the Palace of Parliament. First, however, they have to get rid of them.
